Haiti - Politic : Back to School, message of Jovenel Moïse
Monday, as part of the Back to School, Jovenel Moïse, the presidential candidate under the banner of PHTK, sent a message to students, members of the educational community and the population.

Message of Jovenel Moïse :

"My dear students,

I wish you a happy academic year for the academic year 2016-2017.

As father and candidate to the Presidency of the Republic, I am glad to see the Back to School 2016 materialize, despite the uncertainties of this return for many parents who are in difficult economic situations. Today, many students, because their parents lack of financial resources, can not regain their classrooms. This is unacceptable !

In light of previous years, the state's investment in education is scarce. The envelope devoted to preparations for the new school year has significantly decreased. Our children are not sufficiently supported in their school projects as it should have been. We will remedy this situation.

Members of the educational community,

Each new school year, this is the time of reunion between students, teachers, parents and school officials, but also, this is the time for us, as adults and responsible, to question us to know what direction we will give our school ?

We all know, despite efforts over the past 10 years, our educational system is facing many difficulties that have negative impacts on the academic success of our children. I believe it is urgent to find with the educational community, appropriate responses to these problems to enable the next generation to embrace the future with more confidence.

As a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, it is an opportunity for me to insist on the need to make every effort, including a solid education policy to enable our school to get republican and universal values of progress that build critical thinking, education for citizenship and democracy.

Our students must have a humanistic and scientific culture allowing the free exercise of citizenship.

Dear compatriots,

We need committed and dedicated citizens to the cause of change at all levels that the destiny of the Nation calls us. To achieve this, we must have a school that can assist theNation in this way. Therefore, I give priority to reforming the education system to allow our children to progress in their school life and the country to regain the path of institutional, economic and social development, as expected.

Educational reform I want, should especially change pedagogical approaches to better manage student diversity and fight against the failure, including the systematic evaluation of each student.

Unequal access of families to culture induces an inequality of academic success of our children. I want our school to be a school of success for all children, indiscriminately.

We must implement a futuristic educational policy for our school become the cornerstone of our democracy and a tool change.

My dear students, I ask you attendance in your studies, work and discipline for a school year that meets the expectations of the educational community and especially those of your parents"
