Haiti - Elections : Mirlande Manigat contests its own results
In a statement released yesterday on a radio of the capital, the candidate Mirlande Manigat "Rassemblement des Démocrates Nationaux Progressistes (RDNP)" at the top ranks of the first round (31.37% and 336.878 votes) indicated that Preliminary results, which are allocated to her do not correspond to reality "According to our figures, my score would be much higher," she said.

She called for an independent evaluation, so that the results were "cleansed" of fraud and irregularities. She announces to have deposited a legal remedy, as provided in the electoral law, to claim her rights. The candidate also suggested other candidates to do likewise, in order to know the whole truth about their own votes.

After having thanked its voters, she has warned all those who organized or encouraged "fraud" that have corrupted the electoral process.
