Haiti - Politic : «wè pa wè, vle pa vle the elections will take place» dixit Privert
Saturday at the diplomatic lounge of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, the de facto President Jocelerme Privert, returning from New York where he attended the 71th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) declared about the upcoming elections :

"[...] on October 9 irreversibly the elections will be held, the skeptic who does not believe that the Government would undertake to carry out the elections, now they are facing a machine that nothing can stop, the electoral calendar as it was prepared is ongoing and there is no delay in execution [...]

People who believe that it was impossible for the State of Haiti to mobilize funds required by the CEP, today we can say with satisfaction, that without tumble the macroeconomic stability, without resorting to printing money, the State was able to disburse up to today USD $25 million from Treasury to finance the next election.

What remains now is the issue of security, I noted some cases of assault on candidates, I offer my sympathies to these candidates and urge the CEP, I urge the Government, I urge the CSPN, I urge the Director General of Police and his staff to 'zero tolerance', no cases of insecurity has the right to disrupt the electoral process !

These elections are too important to the future of the country !

[...] The elections will take place 'wè pa wè', 'vle pa vle' the elections will take place.

[...] Without elections the 2nd Monday of January 2017 there will be no more Government, ministers will have no legitimacy, Parliament will be dysfunctional, there will not be like today a judicial power because the Cassation Court has only 2 of 12 judges with a constitutional legitimacy. So it will be the collapse of all the republican institutions [...] That's the importance of elections"
