Haiti - Sports : Match Haiti VS French Guiana postponed

The Federation of Haitian Football (FHF) hastens to inform you that deeply affected by the national tragedy caused by the passage of violent hurricane Matthew, it requested from CFU and CONCACAF the postponement of the match scheduled for this Wednesday evening at Sylvio Cator Stadium.

The players and the technical staff of the National Selection are deeply touched by the pain experienced by our families and our country and consider painful and morally inconceivable to play even an important match when so many of our compatriots are in distress; a football game is above all a feast and celebration.

Faced with this event the FHF has requested and obtained the postponement of the match.

The FHF is aware of the huge financial losses caused by the postponement while the two teams are in Port au Prince since 6 days.

The FHF took the opportunity to inform that the national team leaves the country on October 6, 2016 for a short four-day traineeship in Florida before traveling to Saint Kitts and Nevis for the second match of the 3rd qualifying round.

The FHF renews its sympathy and expressing its total solidarity to all members of the football family and the general population so surely proven by the passage of Matthew.
