30 firefighters rescuers of the French civil security just landed to Port-au-Prince to help people affected by the hurricane Matthew. They will be joined Tuesday morning by a second team of 30 firefighters rescuers spread in two special planes carrying 32 tons of humanitarian supplies.
Kenneth Merten mentioned the case of Privert
In an interview on the Voice of America Kenneth Merten, Haiti special coordinator of the State Department, spoke about the obstacles that may arise in cooperation between the United States and a country that has no elected president democratically recalling that "Privert knows he is not at the National Palace by the outcome of an election but a political solution," Merten affirms ignoring if the United States would be willing to sign a bilateral agreement with the interim President, while avoiding to comment on the status of Jocelerme Privert "We are not yet at this situation. I do not want to go into controversial issues in Haiti. We have a good partnership with the government in power led by Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles."
A food caravan of Minister of Justice
Sunday morning, the distribution of food kits, courtesy of Camille Édouard Jr, Minister of Justice and Public Security, has continued to Les Cayes (Gabion). The caravan will then go to Cotteaux and Port-à-Piment.
On Friday, the Ministry of Interior and Territorial Communities convoyed medicine and food products to the departments of the South and Grand Anse, to assist the population. The priorities for the first emergency response phase, remain for the Government distribution of water, food and medicine to people in temporary shelters and communities.
