Haiti - Elections : Jude Célestin claims victory in the first round ! 14/12/2010 09:27:33 Philomé Pierre-Noël, President of the Departmental Electoral Office (BED) of the West 1, confirmed Monday that lawyers representing candidates of INITE, had submitted to the electoral authorities, some legal elements challenging the results of presidential and legislative. Thus, the candidate Jude Célestin "INITE" and Marie Denise Claude, candidate of the party for the Senate in the Western Department, both claim victory in the first round. Jude Célestin, qualified for the second round with 241.462 votes (22.48%) behind Mirlande H. Manigat 336.878 votes (31.37%) "Rassemblement des Démocrates Nationaux Progressistes (RDNP)" "claims a victory in the first round with 52 or 54% of the votes !" In a radio message, Jude Celestin has called for respect of the popular vote, deploring the violent protests in recent days. He assured that the popular vote will not be trampled, and he would defend this vote under the law. Arrangements have already been taken in this direction. Calling on his supporters to remain engaged in peace awaiting the final result and avoid provocations. Jude Célestin will he table the evidence of his frauds to explain that it are underestimated ? One of the techniques used by INITE is now known... it consisted in modifying with the seizure (tabulation center) the number of votes of minutes (PV) "INITE" as the example indicates it reproduced below : where 10 votes became 110. This example is far from being an isolated case, other minutes pass thus from 11 to 111, 18 to 118 etc... What is very worrying, is that these results were validated and entered into the computer system, in total disagreement with the minutes of the polling stations, implying complicity in the tabulation center... We are unaware of if this way of defrauding was used for the votes for the Senate and the Presidency, but the doubt exists. S/ HaitiLibre
