Haiti - Social : Passing of Mrs. Joe Marie Judie C. Roy
Joe Marie Judie C. Roy (52) died in her home in Pétionville on Wednesday, November 30th. As a militant feminist and politician, she was very early in the fight for women's rights.

From 2006 to 2007, she was a consultant of the Women's Collective for the Political Participation of Women (Fanm Yo La) as part of the project to strengthen the skills of women parliamentarians;

In 2009, she became Head of Cabinet of the Ministry for the Status of Women and Women's Rights under the administration of Marie Laurence Jocelyn Lassègue;

From 2013 to 2014, she led the national awareness campaign around the application of the constitutional quota of 30% of women in public services;

In 2016 Judie C. Roy had returned to the Ministry of Women's Affairs as Chief of Staff of Marie Denise Claude, a position she held until her passing away;

Candidate for the presidency [in 2005, 2010 and 2015] Judie C. Roy made the fight against poverty the guiding principle of her electoral campaign.

[...] We keep from Judie C. Roy The memory of a woman who fought for her political convictions and plans. We keep from her the memory of a woman engaged body and soul in her work [...]"
