Haiti - FLASH : Patrice Neveu leaves the Grenadiers
The national football coach, Patrice Neveu, in an open letter, announces after barely 1 year in office, the end of the adventure at the head of the Grenadiers. Very critical of the Haitian Federation of Football (FHF), he expressed his regrets and explained himself, in order to avoid all polemics and false rumors.

Letter from Patrice Neveu :
"Dear friends, Haitian people,

After a long reflection and after 1 year of work no longer have the sporting and economic means, I can no longer assume serenely and efficiently my mission as coach.

Regret because Haiti is a courageous and future Nation, a warm, welcoming people, which I appreciate because of its culture and its passion for football.

Regret because in Haiti, the footballing potential is there, but we must take the time to make it hatch. Two beautiful generations under the age of 17 and under 20, arrive, patience and the best will make the beautiful days of the Nation.

I also shared with the people great moments of joy and emotion.

I was named national coach of the Grenadiers in December 2015.

As soon as I took office I had to prepare and play a major match against Trinidad Tobago, with my collective of players present and my staff we qualified for the Copa America Centenario.

At the same time our selection was still in course for a qualification for the World Cup Russia, despite a non-existent points (Zero) on my arrival. The Grenadiers finished 3rd in the pool with 4 points ahead of Jamaica, behind Costa Rica and Panama.

High-level football requires a minimum of means to gather and prepare matches.

To be successful against the big ones, it is necessary that the coach has at his disposal the best elements, as well as all the economic, organizational and material means necessary.

Despite the many difficulties we faced and never spoken about in order to protect the entities, not to worry the people and not to break the morale of my players, my team went to look for St Kitts a precious win which still gives the opportunity to qualify for the Gold Cup.

From the bottom of my heart I hope that Haiti wins this qualification.

For my part, I have not been paid for several months. I waited as long as my means allowed, but unfortunately despite my requests, the situation has not been regularized and I have received no proposal or guarantee of future settlement.

In my capacity as a professional coach, I am now forced to make the bitter observation that I no longer have the means to fulfill my mission and that I am in no case responsible for this breach of contract.

I therefore leave with regret a Selection Haitian, your Selection, at the 73rd in the FIFA rankings, 5th of the CONCAF, and wish you all good luck for the meetings to come.

I finally have a special thought for Mr Yves-Jean Bart, that I thank for his constant investment in selection A and all teams of young men and women.

NEVEU Patrice."

Yves Jean Bart, the President of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), does not seem surprised by Patrice Neveu's statements, if he recognizes the salary arrears and the Haitian state's inability to pay the coach, he refutes the lack of means and conditions of work criticized by the French coach saying "[...] We have always provided the national team with everything that the coach has asked us as best we can and at our level [...]"

Jean Bart says he understands Neveu's media intervention as a way to make excuses for reparation if he presents his case to the courts. For the President of the Federation "Neveu is the past. It was he who chose to leave and we noticed his absence, we turned the page."
