Haiti - DR : Signing of a bilateral customs information exchange protocol 22/03/2017 10:38:00 The signing of this protocol was preceded by the first meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Implementation of the Customs Cooperation Agreement of 2014 signed by the customs of both countries, reactivated on 20 October 2016. The meeting was chaired by the Director General of Customs of Haiti Victor Hugo Saint Louis and his Dominican counterpart Enrique A. Ramirez Paniagua. At this meeting, Haitian and Dominican customs officials and technicians worked on various aspects and agenda, including: how the two customs will manage the exchange of information; The frequency of such exchanges, the type of information, the mode of transmission, the evaluation period, the monitoring protocol and the contact persons for exchanges. In essence, with this agreement, Haiti and the Dominican Republic are working together to combat smuggling, tax evasion and all other forms of customs offenses in border regions and the exchange of information related to export and export operations and the international transit between the two customs. Composition of the Haitian delegation : The Haitian delegation was composed of: Reynald Eugene, Deputy Director General; Gaston Sylvestre, Secretary General; Jn. Marie Reginal Timmer, Director of Rules; Jeantal Clairvil, Director of the Programming Unit; Florence Marie P. Alouidor, Deputy Director of the Central Office and Jean Ronald Benjamin, Deputy Director of the SIDONEA Computerized Management Unit. Composition of the Dominican delegation : The Dominican delegation was composed by the Deputy Technical Directors of the DGA: Gabino Polanco; of Operations, William Espinosa; of Legal Adviser and Coordinator of the Agreement José Guillermo Quiñones; of the Technical Coordinator Patria Paulino Matos and Economic Coordinator Lisbeth Carrasco.
