Haiti - Economy : Moïse hopes the creation of 300,000 new jobs over 5 years
Tuesday as part of the strengthening of the subcontracting sector, of investment opportunities and the creation of new jobs in the sector, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by Pierre Marie Du Meny, Minister of Trade and Industry, visited the National Society of Industrial Parks (SONAPI).

In the presence among others of the National Authorizing Officer, Charles Jean-Jacques, the Director General of SONAPI, Bernard Chettini, the President of the Haitian Industries Association (ADIH), Georges Sassine, the Head of State expressed his interest in the sector, as part of the many programs of the Executive, with a view to creating jobs and promoting investment in the reporting country declaring "[...] together with plant managers in order to find effective ways to create jobs at the industrial park [...] I ask all entrepreneurs, banks or loan offices, members of unions, to work together to better benefit from the Hope/Help Act," adding that he also hoped that Haiti could export more products and attract capital.

President Jovenel Moïse asks the employers to keep their promises. And the workers not to submit to alarming attitudes, and to continue believing in their President to oversee and facilitate them accompanying measures such as social assistance, health insurance, food, transport programs etc...

The President of the Republic then visited several workshops, as well as spaces for new projects, before presiding over a meeting with entrepreneurs on, among other things, job creation, promotion of investment and aid cooperation.

Note that Jovenel Moïse is not the first to believe or announce prospects for the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs in Haiti. In 2011, President Martelly wished to create 500,000 jobs in 36 months http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4368-haiti-economy-the-president-martelly-wants-to-create-500-000-jobs-in-36-months.html ; in January 2012, Prime Minister Garry Conille spoke of creating 1 million jobs over 5 years http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4694-haiti-economy-creation-of-1-million-jobs-over-5-years.html Caracol Industrial Park (CIP) launched in 2012, provided welcome 40,000 jobs. In 2017, it is estimated that the number of jobs in the PIC could reach 27,000... http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6965-haiti-economy-idb-inaugurates-the-new-caracol-industrial-park.html

Let's hope that this time, these hundreds of thousands of jobs will not remain virtual as always until now, but will become a reality for the prosperity of our country.
