Herby Widmaier passed away
Herby Widmaier passed away. Founder of Radio Métropole in March 1970, with the help of his wife Micheline Widmaier, Roland Dupoux and Bob Lemoine, Herby Widmaier was a legendary figure of radio in Haiti. Venezuela withdraws from the OAS

Electricity, Haiti 110th out of 111 countries
On Wednesday, during the hearing in the Senate of Fritz Caillot, the Minister of Public Works and Hervé Pierre-Louis, the Director General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH), Youri Latortue, the President of the Senate considered it unacceptable that Haiti should be ranked second last among 111 countries with a rating of 11 out of 100 for access to energy, 14 out of 100 for energy efficiency and 5 out of 100 for renewable energies and asked for explanations and solutions to remedy this situation.

Note that only 35% of Haiti's population has access to electricity (11% in rural areas). The cost of electricity in Haiti is the highest in the Caribbean region. By comparison, electricity consumption per capita in Haiti is only 2% of that per capita in the Dominican Republic.
