Haiti - Commemoration : Message of the MHAVE to the diaspora for January 12th, 2011
The Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), informs our fellow citizens of the diaspora of the establishment of a set of activities, throughout the national territory, at the occasion of the commemoration the 1st anniversary of the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

In this regard, the MHAVE gives full support to the provisions envisaged by our compatriots from the outside to commemorate the January 12, declared national day of remembrance and meditation, and invites them to adopt the following measures:











  • Half-masting of the haitian flag
  • Wearing armbands or buttons black.
  • Observation of 35 seconds of silence on January 12, 2011, at 4:53 pm by members of the Haitian communities abroad. Same consideration in radio and television programs.
  • Observation of mourning in the home pages of websites and forums Internet network from 4:53 pm to midnight.
  • Broadcast of appropriate music in the community radio and television.
  • Closure of places of entertainment (discotheques, billiard room (pool halls)... etc.).
  • Religious services and appropriate activities in all community centers in the Diaspora.

The Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad salutes the memory of the 300,000 victims of the earthquake of January 12, 2010 and calls in the circumstances, all Haitians, without exception, to combine their efforts for the revival of the common fatherland .
