The living body of Livingston Odni aka "Roro" (36), the driver of President Jovenel Moïse, was discovered Thursday morning in his residence in Clercine. He would have received a bullet near his heart, said Senior Inspector Gary Desrosiers, deputy spokesman for the Haitian National Police (PNH), adding that a pistol was found at his side. Suicide or assassination, he said that it will be necessary to await the results of the investigation, which will shed light on the exact circumstances surrounding the death of this agent of the Presidential Security Unit.

A note from the Palace states that "[...] the President Jovenel Moïse learned with sadness the news of the death of his driver, the agent Levinston Odni, in circumstances not yet elucidated."

He further stated that "Levinston Odni had sought and obtained sick leave from the administration of the National Palace and was expected to resume soon his service."

"This sudden disappearance leaves under the shock all the colleagues and collaborators of the deceased. The President of the Republic expresses his condolences to the family of the late Odni and to his colleagues and close collaborators."
