Haiti - EDH NOTICE : Electrical theft and liability

llegal diversion of circuits, so that no one ignores it.

The Electricity Haiti (EDH) informs the public in general and customers in particular that it is prohibited to connect on a circuit different from that assigned to them by the Company. This offense, which is tantamount to unlawful diversion, is severely punished by the Act (Article 70 of the Decree of 6 January 2016 governing the electric power sector).

Consequently, any accident (occurring or avoided) of electrocution of an EDH employee caused by these illegal practices implies the direct and entire responsibility of the customer or group of guilty customers. Any interruption of the service, any breakdown due to these acts of diversion and piracy will be the responsibility of the customer or groups of beneficiary customers.

The EDH gives the population and its clientele a one-week deadline from May 22 to denounce these practices and comply.

The law is formal and will spare nobody violating it.
