Haiti - Tourism : 2,5 million Gourdes to rehabilitate IFORHT des Cayes
Thursday, the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH) and the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Organisation presented a check for 2.5 million Gourdes (± 40,000 dollars) to the Ministry of Tourism, in favor of the rehabilitation of the Institute of Hotel and Tourism Training (IFORHT) of Les Cayes , severely damaged by the passage of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016.

Colombe Émilie Jessy Menos, the Minister of Tourism, while thanking the ATH for this gesture in favor of IFORHT, recalled the importance of training in the tourism sector. "The Ministry of Tourism can not economize on training [...] Well-trained young people in an adequate space and on the basis of a solid curriculum have the virtue of imposing a mark of professionalism in the sector."

Béatrice Nadal Mevs, President of ATH, abundant in the same sense added "The private sector expects young qualified professionals. We thank the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Organisation ths gesture of solidarity, how much appreciated."

Recall that the IFORHT, created in 2013, http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7769-haiti-tourism-hotel-and-tourism-training-institute-in-les-cayes.html receives 70 young people per promotion in the following sectors : welcome and reception, accommodation, kitchen, bar and restaurant.
