Haiti - Politics : Issuance of identity documents, the Minister satisfied 22/07/2017 08:45:38
The Minister said that the average daily production has risen to 4,000 passports and also underlines, at the level of the CRLDI, a steady increase in efforts to achieve the target of 5 working days for the production of a passport following a request. Regarding passports waiting for their claimant, the number that was nearly 26,000 booklets in early July was reduced by 43%. While promising to identify the bottlenecks and isolate the constraints in order to permanently cancel these passports that people do not come to seek, Minister Saint-Albin proposes to develop new tools and to put in place a Plan of campaign. He said various measures had already been taken, including the opening of the passport delivery service in Lalue on Saturday, 15 July, allowing more than 3,000 claimants to retrieve their documents. This measure that was taken to relieve congestion, will be repeated Saturday, July 22, 2017. In addition, the list of passport codes to be retrieved will be published in order to allow citizens to easily retrieve their valuable document.
