Haiti - USA : Trump removes 55% of special envoys including Haiti 30/08/2017 10:45:50 Special envoys for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the rights of persons with disabilities and the closure of the Guantánamo Detention Center will be eliminated as part of the plan. But the administration of President Donald Trump plans to keep envoys for freedom of religion, fight against anti-Semitism and LGBT rights... Out of 66 current envoys or representatives, 30 will remain, a reduction of 55%. 9 posts will be abolished outright. 21 will be "integrated" into other offices, 5 merged with other posts and 1 transferred to the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The Trump Administration will keep envoys or at-large ambassadors for women’s issues, hostages, Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, human trafficking, HIV/AIDS and Holocaust issues. There will be no special envoys in : Haiti, Syria, Myanmar, Libya, Sudan, Southern Sudan and the Arctic, although the regional offices will assume these portfolios.
