Haiti - FLASH Diaspora : IRMA, message from the Consulate of Haiti in Orlando
The Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Orlando informs the Haitian Community of Central Florida that the Consulate will be closed on Monday, September 11 in anticipation of the passage of hurricane IRMA in the region.

IRMA is a major category hurricane that has killed nearly 20 people on its trajectory in the Caribbean and is a threat to Florida.

Consequently, the consular mission recommends that the Haitian Community of Central Florida adopt a responsible attitude face this emergency situation, paying particular attention to children, the elderly and disabled persons, with a view to ensuring full safety of families and the community in its entirety.

The Consulate staff, while remaining concerned and in solidarity, invites the community to respect the safety instructions of the local authorities and to follow the entire event in the appropriate media for the latest information.
