Haiti - Economy : Moïse closes the Forum on Competitiveness and Investment
Friday, back in Haiti since a few hours, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant proceeded at the closing of the Forum on Competitiveness and Investment https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22150-haiti-economy-forum-for-competitiveness-and-investment-in-the-country.html which was held for three days at the Convention Center of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH).

Moses took advantage of this platform to reiterate his will and that of his Administration to make Haitian companies, the central element of the growth and modernization of the economy of Haiti. A modern and competitive economy is the objective set out in these meetings, which brought together all the actors concerned with a view to carrying out concerted actions to make Haiti a regional reference, notably through the priority sectors: Energy, Agriculture and the Construction Industry.

The action plan reached at this Forum will make it possible to change the life of the population over a long period of time through a pact of commitment between all the actors "The economic emergence of which we all dream is at this price", insisted the Head of the The State, convinced that "these commitments should be the basis of the confidence necessary to carry out the task of restoring the national ship..."

Accordingly, President Moïse intends to "[...] guarantee the parameters necessary for improving the business environment, such as security of tenure and energy, to facilitate competition between enterprises and create more jobs in order to get the country out of the rut of underdevelopment."

The Head of State invited Parliament to work to modernize the legal framework for business and promised to do everything possible to facilitate the implementation of the proposals issued from this Forum, stating that instructions had been given to set up in a transparent way the Secretariat planned as part of this activity to facilitate the implementation of the Action Plan.

He also guaranteed the institutionalization of this public-private dialogue initiated through this Forum, "to boost the Haitian economy and put the country on the path of progress and sustainable development."
