Haiti - Education : Award Ceremony to State Examination Laureates
"Through this initiative I want to engage the Nation to value the taste for effort and the quest for excellence in what they undertake. Tomorrow will be different if young people today are put into capacity to fulfill their role with enthusiasm. Today, we are proud to present these young people to the nation as models to follow [...]" said the Head of State, adding in Creole "Mwen fyè pou mwen di ayiti kòmanse chanje [...] Nap bezwen anpil kouraj menm jan ero lendepandans yo te bay tèt yo kouraj. Mwen pran angajman pou mwen di tout lorea ki fini ane sa a ke leta ap pran yon arete pou di inivèsite nou sou kont let"
The President is convinced that the honor is both for the young people, for their parents, but also for their teachers and school leaders. He gave them a heartfelt tribute to the work that has been accomplished, announcing that the government will take charge of the final-year laureates.
Minister Cadet stated that this ceremony was intended to promote the values and honor the academic excellence of young people from elementary to high school. The Minister also expressed his strong feelings as a teacher, towards those schoolchildren whose courage and application to work must be modeled by the Haitian youth.
Balmyr Johnny, one of the laureates, spoke on behalf of all his comrades to salute the initiative taken by President Moïse to honor the best of the best.

Calvaire Yves Angelo, Petit séminaire Collège de Mazenod à Camp-Perrin (South) ;
Bélizaire Jamsony, Collège Frère Odile Joseph des Cayes (South) ;
Valmyr Johny, Lycée national Henry Christophe de Trou-du-Nord (North-East) ;
Renée Yvdyne, Institution Sainte Rose de Lima (West) ;
Lubin Wood Sherlynnx, Collège Sacré-coeur of Nord-Ouest.
