Haiti - FLASH : Strong tension near the Champ de Mars
Thursday at the Champ de Mars, students of the Faculty of Ethnology resumed their protests to demand, among others, justice for their colleague injured on June 12 on the parking lot of the Faculty during a violent demonstration http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21216-haiti-flash-students-set-fire-to-faculty-of-ethnology.html

Close to the Faculty of Ethnology, students had erected barricades of inflamed tires, dumped waste on the roadway blocking traffic. Individuals threw stones in all directions creating panic-strickenness among the residents.

Near the Champs de Mars many shots were heard by the residents. Students, displaying projectile bushings, claim that a black Toyota pickup with no license plates and smoked windows opened fire to the protesters causing a panic, under the eyes of the police who ensured security of the demonstration without intervening... Fortunately no victim of these shots of intimidation is reported.

Students who see the hidden hands of the state behind this action intend to continue their advocacy movement and broaden it to the need to reform the Haitian State University, which for several months chains the crises of several institutions...
