Moïse denounces slavery in Libya
"Our African origins and our past as liberators of oppressed peoples exhort us to condemn and act against the return to the chains that is being made in Libya. Haiti denounces with all its might racism and the return to slave practices," declared the Head of State in response to the news.
Trump, appoints a Haitian-American, Ambassador in Africa
The countries of West Africa, Gabon and São Tomé and Principe welcomed the Haitian Joel Danies as a new ambassador appointed by Donald Trump. Joel Danies was born in April 1958 in Jacmel. From September 2011 to 2014, he was Deputy Special Coordinator of Haiti. He also worked as Chief of Staff in the State Department Administration Office from June 2014 to July 2016. Joel Danies speaks French, Haitian-Creole and Arabic.

Monday, Daniel Denis, the Director General of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) made several announcements: the launch of the Digital Identity Card (CIP) digitized on December 15; the launch of the Grievance Service next December; the launch of the Electronic Single Window in April 2018 and the move of the Ministry to its new premises in the Champ de Mars in February 2018.
