Haiti - Elections : 4 CEP counselors would have refused to sign the results
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) operates with 8 counselors on 9 since that Jean Enel Desir, the representative of the Catholic Church, was forced to resign following a corruption scandal https://www.haitilibre.com/article-949-haiti-elections-demission-de-jean-enel-desir.html (in french)

4 CEP counselors would have refused to sign, yesterday Thursday, after several hours of "vigorous debate", the document concerning the final results for the first round of the elections. It would be:

  • Jean Thélève Pierre-Toussaint (Designated by the Federation of CASEC/ASEC)
  • Jacques Belzin (Designated by the Syndical Sector)
  • Ribel Pierre (Designated by the Conseil National du Centre Démocratique, CONACED)
  • Ginette Chérubin (Designated by the Women's Sector)

A refusal that would be motivated by the lack of second expertise [they would have claimed] of the minutes reviewed by the technical mission of the Organization of American States (OAS). Minutes which were used as references to the recommendations of the Mission of experts responsible for audits of the preliminary results of the first round. One of the counselors said clearly that he refused for its part "to sign an imposed results".
