Haiti - Security : Dismantling of a gang of thieves in Pétion-ville
Monday, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) has announced the arrest on Sunday evening at Pèlerin 5 (Pétion-ville), of 4 individuals suspected of being members of a gang specialized in burglaries, they are according to the police : Gethro Augustin, Marie Pierre Telfort, Lifaite Francès, Christelle Montlouis, the wife of Marc Naly Georges William, the presumed Head of this Gang, fugitive and actively sought after.

The crackdown follows a spinning operation conducted by the police in the neighborhoods of Thomassin, Laboule and Fermathe where operated this Gang.

Following this arrest, the perpetrators led the police to the cache where they stored among other things their booty. Many stolen objects, works of art, jewelry, weapons and equipment used to carry out their burglaries were found.

Inspector Gary Desrosiers, deputy spokesperson of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), said, "We found 17 large and high-value paintings and 13 smaller ones. We recovered several watches and a lot of jewelry, cell phones, 6 pistols, a 12-gauge rifle, magazines and ammunition of various calibres [...]"

People claiming ownership of these stolen items have already appeared and the police will start the verification of identities and other evidence, to determine the owners of the stolen goods.

Last minute : The police would have put their hands on Mc Nally, the alleged leader of the Gang.
