Haiti - Social : Tribute of the Haitian youth to our ancestors
As part of the celebration of the 214th anniversary of the proclamation of Haiti's independence, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, organized a series of activities to pay a vibrant tribute to the Fathers of the Fatherland and awaken in every young person the sense of pride inspired by the exploit of our ancestors for breaking the chains of slavery.

Supervised by technicians from the Directorate of Physical Activities and Sports Ministry: fanfares, corps d'honneur, school brigade, cheerleaders and youth wearing costumes reminiscent of the indigenous army and embodying the characters of the heroes of independence, marched in the streets of Gonaïves.

Hundreds of young people started the parade at the Fundamental school St Val Rey following the route : Steet Descahos-Place Pétion-Ave des Dattes-Rue Louverture-Rue Clervaux-Town Hall of Gonaïves before concluding the parade at the starting seat with a great cultural show.

A cycling race organized for the occasion Herode Issac of St-Marc, Evano Exilus of Cap-Haitien dominated the race, compelling Leogan's Jean Willy Joseph, a big name and favorite of all national cycling competitions to settle for third place. An evolution hailed by Kénelt Léveillé, President of the Haitian Cycling Federation, and Régine Lamur, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action.
