Public holiday :
During a meeting with the private sector around the carnival organization, which will take place in Port-au-Prince from Sunday, February 11 to Tuesday, February 13, 2018, President Moïse confirmed that "Monday, February 12, will be of course a half-day of work but that Wednesday, February 14 is a holiday

Moreover Claudel Dumas, President of Carnival Committee informed on the progress of preparations at the level of the Champ de Mars "Stand construction operations will be launched in 48 hours," stating that "this year only the paid stands will be built."

Estimated budget of 186 millions :
The estimated budget for the Carnival 2018 is 186 million gourdes for the 10 departments of the country. Limond Toussaint, the Minister of Culture confirmed on Wednesday to the senators of the Commission "Culture and Tourism" that the Government will contribute 50 million and said to count on the support of the private sector to sponsor these festivities.

At the level of the sponsors, the Organizing Committee expressed the positive response of the companies, Digicel, Tchako, La Couronne Brewery, Automeca, AIC, MSC, Brasserie National are all starters! Also the committee announces a tax deduction for those who finance the carnival 2018! Amounts will be considered gifts to the state. Sponsors say they are asked by different municipalities and do not know who to answer. On this subject President Jovenel Moise said "It is necessary to go through the National Committee. That said, those who wish can support the carnival in the communes. "

The Vice-president of the Committee said he counted on the private sector for the carnival, the sponsors must be at the rendezvous to accompany the Committee recalling that Jovenel Moïse wants a rallying carnival and appealed to large companies, many of them have already made commitments.

Security : 7,000 police officers... :
Commissioner Frantz Lerebours, spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) revealed that 7,000 police officers will be deployed to secure carnival activities in all regions of the country. Adding that after carnivals in the regions, the PNH will concentrate its staff and redouble its efforts on the National Carnival in Port-au-Prince. The 127 stands in Port-au-Prince will be secured by the PNH. On the route, there will be 7 evacuation points to allow ambulances to travel to and from the 21 ambulance stations.

Project "La Mayòt" :
The Committee has confirmed the project La Mayòt, the construction of a large stand on which the disguised groups will evolve, each with a performance of 3 minutes so that the public can enjoy their choreography. A show will be offered every half hour, on the bridge of La Mayòt.

The 2018 Carnival Organizing Committee to be held on February 11-12 and 13 in Port-au-Prince has just provided us with the official list of the 25 bands that will participate in the event : 620 Ans Band, An Gran Jan, Beseba, Bizou Bizou Band, Blood Band, Chouchou Band, Diagolo, Family Rara, Fashion Matte, Grappe Plaisir One The Moove, Jaguar's Band, Louloup Party Cool, New-York New-York, No Limit Rara Fanm, Original Bel Bebet, Original Cash Band, Raram, Relax Band, Rosa Band, Silibo, Soul Rasta#1, Tabou 4X4 Band, Vice Band, Vodoula and Rara Fanm
