Haiti - DR : Twenty Haitian parliamentarians meet President Danilo Medina
Friday as part of the ties of friendship between the two Nations, the President of the Dominican Republic Danilo Medina, accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, the legal adviser of the executive power, Flavio Darío Espinal and of Director General of Communication and government spokesperson, Roberto Rodríguez Marchena received in his Palace in Santo Domingo, the Presidents of the Chamber of Deputies Gary Bodeau and Senate Joseph Lambert accompanied by a large delegation of Haitian parliamentarians.

Senator Lambert was accompanied, among others, by the Senators Onondieu Louis, Willot Joseph, Évallière Beauplan, Vilfrid Gelin, Sorel Jacinthe, Nawoon Marcellus and Ralph Féthière...

For his part, the Deputy Gary Bodeau was accompanied by among others the deputies Manès Louis, Ostin Pierre Louis, Jean Miller Jean, Alfredo Pierre Antoine, Jean Wilner Guervil and Guerda Benjamin...

During the meeting, President Medina and Haitian parliamentarians exchanged views on topics of common interest in an atmosphere of cordiality.

At the end of this meeting Senator Lambert said "I chaired a delegation of parliamentarians that was received by President Danilo Medina Sanchez in the salons of his Palace. We had a serious dialogue around the main points that make up the essence of Haitian-Dominican relations."

For his part Gary Bodeau said "We have to address issues of common interest to both countries such as migration, trade, the fight against smuggling and education. In addition, regarding the cost of entry visas to the Dominican Republic which could increase according to our information, the Dominican President has promised to inquire and make the appropriate arrangements."
