Haiti - Football : Passing of the former Secretary General of the FHF
It is with emotion and a deep pain not well contained and still under the effect of the shock that the Haitian Federation of Football (FHF) announces the passing away of its former Secretary General the Agronomist Jacques Lionel Désir, occurred Friday afternoon in Port -au-Prince. In a message the FHF emphasizes "[...] Lionel, respected manager for his proven competence, agronomist, university professor, manager wanted, has been at the service of his country and at the same time served the football, his passion, while his life first as a hub of Excelsior Club, which he reorganized with the Larsen Brothers and then as Secretary General of the FHF. He was the driving force behind the modernization of football in the early 2000s, transforming the small office of the FHF into a modern institution with a solid administration and meeting the management standards set out in the FIFA regulations and statutes.

Under his leadership, he gradually modernized the competitions, then launched and placed the Haitian football on the international map with the regular commitment of more than a dozen national teams in official international competitions by constituting a technical structure in charge of the technical and development policy of football [...]

He was a man of great intellectual and moral rigor, respected for his great competence, his integrity, his probity, his courage, his humanism, his work force, all put at the service of his mad love of the game.

He has marked the FHF by his long passage of 12 years [...] One of the most beautiful projects set up by the late deceased was the Academy "Camp Nous" he has, with his teaching experience planned from start to finish. Happy and glorious coincidence, this school to train young elite and bring our national selections of young at the level of the best in the world, scored its first fact of glory with the qualification of U-20 girls at the World Cup France 2018 http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23406-haiti-flash-our-grenadieres-u-20-qualified-for-the-world-cup-france-2018.html

The FHF salutes the memory of this dedicated man, brave human, uncompromising on the principles of law, brilliant and competent technician and this exemplary family man who gave his life to serve his country, especially young people and pray his wife, his children his many friends of football and Excelsior, to accept this tribute of homage and gratitude from the football family for all he has done for our sport.

We invite, as soon as the date of the funeral known, all the affiliated clubs to be ready to participate in the funeral of our regretted Brother of work and passion with an imposing delegation of young athletes to make the moving farewells that he deserves.
