Haiti - Heritage : Fire to Iron Market, ISPAN under shock !
In a note, the architect Jean Patrick Durandis, Director General of the Institute of Safeguarding National Heritage (ISPAN) is "deeply dismayed by the fire of the southern wing of the Hyppolite Market occurred in the night of 12 to 13 February 2018 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23556-haiti-flash-the-iron-market-ravaged-by-a-fire.html

The market 127 years old, was one of the first monuments restored after the earthquake of January 12, 2010 following negotiations conducted by ISPAN with the Digicel Foundation.

Faced with this inestimable loss ISPAN cries out its dismay at seeing the resources of the merchants of the place go up in smoke as well as all the efforts made and invested by one and the other in the restoration of this icon that is the Hyppolite Market.
