Learn more about Gérald Mathurin : A native of Jacmel, Gerald Mathutin is a graduate of the 1973-1977 Promotion of the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV). He began his career as an Agronomist at the Artibonite Valley Development Agency (ODVA) where he gained a long and extensive professional experience in the agricultural sector before becoming the Director General of this organization. He specialized in rice farming and worked in the Agricultural District of Les Cayes before becoming Director of Integrated Development Program of Jérémie. He became Minister of Agriculture of Natural Resources and Rural Development under René Préval (1996-1997) and was the Founder and Coordinator of the Regional Coordination of Organizations of South-East (CROSE), a social movement of peasants, women and young people.
