Haiti - France : Skills strengthening within the Haitian Tax Administration
Taking advantage of the arrival in Haiti of Sylvie Sturel, Head of the International Cooperation Mission (MCI) of the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFIP) of France, the Ambassador of France in Haiti, Elisabeth Beton Delègue met recently during a cocktail at his official residence, more than thirty senior Haitian officials who received training from the National School of Public Finance (ENFIP) as part of a continuing partnership between the French and Haitian administrations in matters of Public finances. Jocelerme Privert, former interim President of Haiti and Ronald Décembre Secretary of State for Finance were also present.

Recall that the ENFIP, structured around 3 specialized schools: Taxes, Cadastre and Public Treasury, regularly organizes short and long courses for senior officials, training that has benefited more than 60 Haitian officials since 1995. Allowing for a reinforcement of skills and a qualification of very high level, these trainings are not only tools of capitalization of the skills for their beneficiaries but also and especially, on their return, of valorization of their careers within the Public Service Haitian.

In addition to these trainingsby ENFIP, the Franco-Haitian cooperation in the field of public finances relies on the mobilization, through Expertise France, of a French public expertise of quality, originating from metropolitan France but also, more and more often of French collectivities in America to strengthen the regional dimension of this cooperation.

"Our Embassy is very interested in pursuing these partnerships with the Haitian State in terms of training officers of the General Tax Directorate, as well as civil servants in a more general way. And this in order to anchor our actions of development and institutional strengthening in the long term, which is a central objective of our cooperation policy," said Ambassador Delègue.
