Haiti - Politic : Moïse wants to boost social programs with money from the international
On Monday, President Jovenel Moïse held a high-level meeting with Haiti's international partners, including representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank (WB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and from Canada, to discuss the need to boosting social programs in the country to improve the fate of the most vulnerable.

The Head of State exposed the various social programs and their very important impact on the poorest families. He also shared the changes made to these programs to better adapt them to the needs of the population.

He recalled that the strengthening of the social security had been discussed with the IMF last February https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23659-haiti-economy-moise-accepts-the-program-of-control-and-the-requirements-of-the-imf.html that the social programs implemented by the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) should benefit from a transfer of non-disbursed IDB resources equivalent to US $ 7 million from ongoing investment projects.

In addition, the IDB plans to support the efforts of the Government of Haiti to formulate an investment project in the field of social protection and job creation to enable the Government to have sufficient resources to continue its actions aimed at offering living conditions to the most vulnerable and to fight effectively against discrimination and social exclusion.
