Haiti - Social : Launch of a music competition around the flag 28/03/2018 09:12:22 Beyond this, Minister Cadet insists on the need to encourage academic excellence among young people and to orient them towards healthy activities allowing them to showcase their talents "We really want another country with conscientious citizens. We believe that this must begin with the youth that is the foundation on which the future of Haiti must be built." Inscribed in the perspective of the celebration of May 18, Flag and University Day, this competition is supported by several renowned artists including Jean Bélony Murat alias "BélO", Roosevelt Saillant aka "BIC", Jean-Jean Roosevelt, Tamara Suffrin and Emeline Michel who has just celebrated his 30th birthday this musical career. Terms of participation in the Contest : Registration is free and open to all students in public and private schools across the country. Groups of at least three students, aged 14 to 20, must submit their works during the period from 2 to 10 April 2018. Each group must complete a registration form duly signed by the head of the institution to which the group wishing to apply for the competition belongs. The duration of the proposed song (a capella or with accompaniment) should not exceed 4 minutes and can be sent by email in MP3 format to: drapo2018@gmail.com or deposited in an envelope at the Communication Office of the Ministry of Education or in the departmental directorates of education (DDE). For informations : 509 2813 0339 The results will be known before April 16th The jury, made up of a group of artists under the auspices of BIC, will select 10 finalists who will present a show on May 4 to determine the first three winning groups of the competition. Competitors will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria: respect of the theme; originality; composition of the text; coherence of words; performance of singing (correctness, pronunciation, respect of rhythm). Among the bonuses that will be offered to the ten finalist groups of the contest: recording of their song with the coaching of the artists in a professional studio; live performance in the closing concert; editing a CD with the 10 songs. A number of CDs will be given as a gift to each participant to promote them, as well as other bonuses for the first three winning groups. Recall that the Ministry has already organized other similar competitions which have been very successful like "Kenbe tèt ou, kwè nan tèt ou, kraze bèt ou" and "Nou tout sanble". HL/ HaitiLibre
