Haiti - Social : Honor and Merit to 3 remarkable Haitians in Mexico
Tuesday, at the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico, Ambassador Guy proceeded in the presence of the members of the Mexican Chancery, the diplomatic corps, some members of the Haitian community, the leaders of Radio Haiti Internationale of Mexico and the relatives and friends of the three recipients, at the presentation of the Awards of Excellence which aim to honor every year, compatriots living in Mexico, who have distinguished themselves in any field, primarily related to improving the image of Haiti.

These new "ambassadors" of Haiti received in the gardens of the Embassy, from the hands of Ambassador Lamothe their distinction for their commitment to scientific research and the evolution of Haitian entrepreneurship in Mexico.

Learn more about Guerda Massillon :
Dr Guerda Massillon was born in Bassin-Bleu (Northwest of Haiti), she obtained a BSc in Physics from the Universite d'Etat d'Haiti in July 1996. She moved to Mexico City in 1998 where she earned an MSc in Medical Physics and a PhD (2001-2006, thesis "Thermoluminescent efficiency and glow curve of LiF:Mg,Ti exposed to intermediate energy ions") from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM).

In February 2007 she was appointed by the Institute of Physics, UNAM as a Research Associate to work on dosimetric properties of materials exposed to high-ionization density radiation fields. Simultaneously, she granted permission to undertake 2 years post-doc at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD USA where she led part of the research project: "Absorbed dose measurement for low-energy photon brachytherapy Sources" collaborating with Drs. Christopher G Soares, Michael G Mitch and Ronaldo Minniti.

After her return to UNAM in 2010, she was promoted as Assistant Professor. Since then, she has been concentrating on two research projects : "Response of dosimetric materials exposed to low-energy photons" and "Reference dosimetry for small radiotherapy fields".

Since 2009, Guerda Massillon is lecturing in the Post-Graduate Program in Physical Sciences (PCF), UNAM, and has supervised several postgraduate students in Medical Physics. She was invited as Visiting Professor at NIST, USA and at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada collaborating with Prof. David W O Rogers on Monte Carlo Applications to radiation dosimetry.

Guerda Massillon has published 20 peer reviewed papers and is a regular reviewer for many scientic journals including Phys. Med. Biol and PLoS ONE.

In 2011, Guerda Massillon has been awarded as a Fellow of the InterAmerican Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS) for her research and scholarly competence as well as her potential for helping to strengthen science and technology capacity in the Americas and cooperation between researchers and institutions in her field of study. In Mexico, she has been recognised as National Researcher Level II from the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI) in January 2014.

Dr Rojaques Mompremier, a young Haitian, born in Cap-Haïtien (January 7, 1978) holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute of Haiti, a master's degree in hydraulics from the National Polytechnic Institute from Mexico and a PhD in Civil Engineering. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

As part of his doctoral studies, Rojacques was at Laval University for a training period in research on numerical modeling of his thesis and at the "Patel College of Global Sustainability" at the University of South Florida. for his preparation and writing of his doctoral article.

His area of ​​research focuses on the integral design of drinking water and drainage networks (sanitary and rainwater), drinking water quality management in distribution networks, hydraulic modeling and water quality in an urban environment. He has been working in the field of research since 2007 at the Institute of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and has already published 7 articles in various recognized academic journals.

Dr. Kely Rely, is a doctor by training. He holds a Master's degree in Public Health from the National Institute of Public Health in Cuernavaca (INSP), a Master's degree in Health Economics, the Center for Research and Economic Development (CIDE) and a PhD in Management and Health Policy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico UNAM.

For more than 17 years, Dr. Kely Rely has also been very active in academic training and has worked as a consultant in economic and health policy evaluation for various national and international organizations. She is Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Public Health and Tec of Monterey and held various positions at the Ministry of Health in Mexico City.

She is the Founder and CEO of World Business Center (WOBUC) a world-class business facilitation company.
