Haiti - Justice : The ULCC muscle its strategies against corruption
Major David Basile, Director General of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) supported by other members of his administration, presented the past week to the judicial actors and representatives of the Civil Society of North 3 instruments of essential work in the fight against corruption: 2 Guides, 2 Guides, one techniques and the other practices on the law of 12 March 2014 on the prevention and repression of corruption and the new computer system of Declaration of Patrimony, the SYDEP II. These 3 tools aim to strengthen its anti-corruption strategy.

Although the Technical Guide is intended mainly for judges in the judicial system, the Practical Guide is intended for a wider audience: victims, witnesses or persons who are simply aware of acts of corruption. The objective pursued by these publications is to popularize the law of March 12, 2014 both with the judicial sector and the citizens.

Regarding the SYDEP II, its update thanks to the technical support of the European Union, will allow the agents of the ULCC to better analyze the information provided by the reporters subject to the law of 12 February 2008 in order to possibly detect cases of conflict of interest and illicit enrichment.

The presentation of these anti-corruption instruments, is the fourth of a series that began in the West Department in November 2017 and will continue in all departments of the country.
