Haiti - Politic : Justin Trudeau calls for the renewal of the mandate of Michaëlle Jean
Earlier this week Michaëlle Jean, the Secretary General of La Francophonie, received at the headquarters of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada on official visit to the French Government.

At the OIF, the major issues of the moment that shake up and mobilize the Francophone space as well as the priority areas for increased cooperation between Canada and La Francophonie were at the heart of the discussions

At the end of her meeting with Justin Trudeau, Michaëlle Jean declared "Canada's support is very important" because it allows us to vigorously continue our action for this "Francophonie of pragmatic and concrete solutions that we have been developing for more than three years."

Jean, while recalling that transparency has been practiced for a long time at the OIF, kept the Canadian Prime Minister aware of the mechanisms in place in this area, such as the strengthening of the team of internal auditors, the regular publication of reports from the external auditors, as well as the recent complimentary report by the Chairman of the Audit Committee, describing as exemplary the practices of the Organization. Finally, Michaëlle Jean announces that a code of transparency will soon be proposed to the member states and governments of La Francophonie.

For his part Justin Trudeau said "I am very happy to come see in person the excellent work of the OIF and the Francophonie as a whole under the leadership of its Secretary General," also welcoming the measures implemented by the Organization to improve and modernize its administrative practices for greater efficiency.

The Canadian Prime Minister also invited other member countries to renew their confidence in the Secretary General at the next Francophonie Summit in Yerevan, Armenia, next October, so that she can continue and consolidate "the excellent work", since taking office in January 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12879-haiti-politic-michaelle-jean-takes-office-at-the-head-of-the-oif.html
