Moïse refuses to publish a law
President Jovenel Moïse refuses to publish in the official journal "Le Moniteur" the Law on Recognition and Validation of Prior Learning and Professional Experience in the form given to him last April 20th https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24001-haiti-politic-two-important-bills-passed-in-the-senate.html voted by the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies in April https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20575-haiti-news-zapping.html . It proposes the modification of 14 articles with explanations to reinforce and widen the scope of this law according to the presidency. This law will have to be submitted again to both Houses to be ratified in the same terms.

Delegation of Colombian entrepreneurs to the country
The Investment Facilitation Center (CFI), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received this week at the Marriott Hotel, a delegation of Colombian entrepreneurs accompanied by the Ambassador of Colombia José Antonio Segebre Berardinelli and Crisanto Orlando Torres Pabòn, Minister Counselor of the Colombian Embassy in the Dominican Republic, Julio Santa Consul of Colombia in Haiti, Valentina Ossa Murcia, ProColombia Representative for Haiti and the Dominican Republic, and Agency Representatives in Charge of Promotion investments in Colombia. This meeting enabled Colombian entrepreneurs to become better acquainted with the services of the CFI, the incentives offered by Haiti and the laws governing investments.

USA helps DGI to collect taxes
Ambassador Sison visited Haiti’s Tax Directorate (DGI) office in Cayes, where USAID’s Integrated Financial Management System project supports an increase in tax revenue. This project has provided IT hardware and software to 25 DGI offices across the country. In Les Cayes, the DGI received computers, monitors, a tower server, uninterrupted power sources (UPS) for the PCs and the server, printers, and a VPN router. This equipment makes tax collection more streamlined and efficient.

Artibonite : Secretary of State Oriol Jr. on Tour
At the head of a delegation, Gérald Oriol Jr, the Secretary of State for the Integration of the Disabled, recently made a tour of the Artibonite. During his trip he met with the Departmental Coordinator on the development work of the new Departmental Office in Gonaïves. He also had meetings with disabled people's associations, particularly in Gonaïves and Marchand-Dessalines, during which food kits were distributed. In addition, wheelchairs were distributed during his visit.

Fishing : Community Zoning Workshop
The fishermen of Port-Salut / Pointe Abacou participated in a community zoning workshop as part of the development of the Port-Salut / Pointe Abacou protected area management plan. They identified areas of concentration by type of fishing practiced and analyzed the findings of degradation of the different resources. Identification with communities of the causes of this deterioration and possible solutions is essential for establishing a set of participatory management measures within the marine protected area.

Training in Data Science
Thursday as part of the International Day of Young Girls in ICT. The team of the School of Infotronics of Haiti (ESIH) interviewed over 60 girls for a training in "Data Science", prepared through a collaboration between the ESIH, Ayitic Goes Global, the Research Center for International Development (IRDC) and Haiti Women & ICT.
