Haiti - FLASH : Senator Delva involved in a fatal accident in DR
Thursday Senator Garcia Delva (Ayiti Aksyon - AAA) was involved in an accident in the Dominican Republic that caused the death of a Haitian and injured two other people. The body of our compatriot, who was not identified due to a lack of documentation, was transported to the morgue of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in the province of Azua.

The accident occurred at kilometer 13 of the Sanchez highway between Azua and San Juan provinces while Senator Delva returned to Haiti after picking up his wife at Las Americas airport. According to the Dominican press a speeding could be the cause of this accident.

Following this accident, Senator Delva, still in shock, immediately went to the nearest police station to explain to the police authorities. He would has leaved the scene once his deposit recorded and the intervention of the Senate Speaker Joseph Lambert, according to the statements of the former Consul of Haiti in Higuey, Jean Tolbert Alexis who was in the neighboring Republic.

"With emotion, I learned that my colleague Garcia Delva's car had an accident in the Dominican Republic. He came out unscathed and he will be back in the next 48 hours," said Senator Lambert.
