Haiti - Technology : Online training related to ICT for Haitian women

"Ayitic Goes Global" is an online training program, related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for Haitian women, initiated by the Registry of Internet Directions of Latin America and the Caribbean (LACNIC ) and the International Research and Development Center (IDRC).

Developed in collaboration with the School of Infotronics of Haiti (ESIH) with the support of the Caribbean Open Institute (COI), this 2-year project aims not only to promote women's access to employment, but also to build the capacity of professional technicians to consolidate the internet infrastructure in Haiti.

The courses, designed by IOC based on the results of Ayitic's research, will focus on the development of aligned skills with potential job opportunities.

Two specializations will be offered:

"Internet Practitioner": oriented for jobs that need to control Internet browsing for small digital work (such as social media animation).

"Data Practitioner": oriented towards tasks that require the handling of databases.

Ayitic plans to conduct 3 training sessions online between 2018 and 2019 to reach the goal of 300 women, aged 18 to 29, trained in numerical skills and 150 specialization for network management and information security technicians.

The courses, available in French and English, will be available online from the Haitian platform "Hybrid Technology for Education, Science and Knowledge" (THESS)https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17079-haiti-education-launch-of-the-first-educational-online-platform-made-in-haiti.html and will lead to sessions at ESIH
