Haiti - Environment : Important meeting on the transformation of the stoves market
Wednesday, following the meeting of May 15 between Pierre Simon Georges, the Minister of the Environment and the Ambassador of Canada in Haiti André Frenette, a first working session on the update of the document "Haiti Action Plan on the Transformation of the Market of Stoves and Fuels" mobilized several Technical Directors of the Ministry under the leadership of Nicole Yolette Altidor, the Director General of the Ministry.

This meeting took place between representatives of the Department of World Affairs Canada, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (GACC) and senior officials of the Ministry is part of the preparations for the implementation in Haiti of this imposing 5-year project on clean and sustainable energy.

It should be noted that it is the Ministry of the Environment (MDE) that will oversee the Project which will be co-chaired by the Department of World Affairs Canada. In the meantime, the MDE will have to submit by the middle of June its recommendations in terms of contribution for the finalization of the project implementation plan, which is being drafted.

Note that the launch of the project on the Transformation of the Market of Stoves and Fuels, is scheduled for the month of September 2018 and will end in 2023.
