Haiti - Uruguay 2018 : Our young Grenadières U-17 miss the qualification
Tuesday as part of the 3rd phase of qualifying for the 6th edition of the UEFA Women's U-17 World Cup, Uruguay 2018, in a match where anything seemed possible, our young Grenadières U-17 faced Canada in small final for the third and final ticket to the Uruguay 2018 World Cup, saw their hopes and dreams fly away 2 minutes from the end of the match by losing 2-1 against he Canadians, who qualify for this World Cup , for the 6th time in a row.

During the first period, our Grenadiers took the advantage.

At half time the score is [0-0]

Back in the locker room, the Canadians came back more offensive by opening the score at 48' [1-0] thanks to a shot from the left of Jordyn Huitema.

Haiti has sought a response to a solid Canadian defense and it will be necessary to wait until the 75 'for Melchie Daelle Dumornay aka "Corventina" converted a penalty in beauty and is find the equality [1-1].

A spectacular and tense end of play where Andersen Williams leaves the bench and enters play registering at 89 'the goal that will sign the qualification of Canada [2-1]

It is the eyes filled with tears that our valiant young Grenadières stay at the foot of the podium and see their last chance to qualify.

After the match "Corventina" the captain of the team of Haiti said "We are eliminated but we learned. We must use this experience, correct what will have to be corrected to get out stronger and win after. The team will need to be strengthened because there are some stupid mistakes that are not forgivable at certain levels [...] I do not make anyone responsible in particular but the team in general. We win and we lose as a team. When I score, it is Haiti that scores, when we cash a goal, it is Haiti who cash it [...]"

In a note, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) thanks and shows its respect to the U-17 women's national team, which for the second time in a row, after Granada 2016, falls on the last step.

"The FHF shares your pain, your great sadness and your terrible frustration, you, courageous and talented girls who have worked very hard for years to get to this stage and this level of play it only held one thread but unfortunately the success this time was not on our side; either face of Mexico, face the powerful American and finally face the Canadian multi globalists, each time you have pushed the world's best.

We say thank you and express our feelings of gratitude and solidarity to each of the 26 girls who gave everything during 4 years of hard work.

[...] In sport and for us in football we never lose but we learn ! [...]

[...] What we missed in U-17 in 2018 we will achieve it in U-20 in 2020 [...] Thank you girls, thank you to coaches and staff, to supervisors, professors, technical and administrative staff... thank you to the government and to the Head of State in particular who allowed us to be present at these last two crucial phases of this summer.

[...] NOU KAPAP ! Nap leve ; Rout la Pa longue ; se nou ki pou aprann chak jou mache pi vit !

Thank you Noula, Nancy, Bernangye, Kadache, fafoune, Ninie, Marta , Ti JB, Dani, Corvenn, Brice, Ti gaucher, Bebette, Neika, Ti Zo, Vladine , Maille, Edgenie, hank you Milam ! Merci Shelby, Merci Izzy, Samantha ! [...]"
