Haiti - NOTICE : Warnings to Canadians traveling to Haiti 08/07/2018 09:02:36
The Canadian government has changed its travel advisories and warnings for Haiti to reflect Global Affairs Canada's recommendation to avoid all non-essential travel to Haiti at this time due to civil unrest across the country.
"On July 6, 2018, violent protests broke out across the country, following the announcement of an increase in gas prices. Clashes have resulted in casualties. Protesters have set up burning barricades in the main streets of Port-au-Prince as well as in residential neighborhoods. Several airlines have cancelled their flights to Toussaint-Louverture international airport. Further demonstrations may occur in the next few days. Be careful and limit your movements."
