Haiti - FLASH : 3rd day of riots in Haiti

Some street vendors courageously tried to resume a semblance of activity as motorcycle taxi, even if the customers were rare... and that one heard sporadic shooting...

Despite a police presence in some places, new scenes of looting were reported in the capital and in the commune of Delmas where shops were attacked and looted (food stores, building materials sales companies and clothing stores). Very aggressive and menacing, some individuals wearing hoods, headscarves or motorcycle helmets, were armed with machetes and knives.

Barricades of burning tires were consolidated, other new were erected in the various arteries of the Capital, but also in Carrefour, Delmas and Pétion-ville among others...

More and more protesters are demanding the departure of the Head of State and his Government. A call for a 48-hour general strike is circulating in the country without anyone knowing whether it is a union slogan or a destabilizing strategy of those behind these riots who are manipulating a large part of the protesters. Everything happens in the greatest confusion, moreover, the telecommunication services, (Telephone and Internet) that were damaged make the verification of some information difficult...
