5 days before the elections, the presidential candidates are confident to win, satisfied with their campaign...

Mirlande Manigat :
Mirlande Manigat expressed her confidence in the election of this coming Sunday, "I am fully satisfied with the way my campaign progresses" she said to the press Monday. The candidate Manigat said, do not be concerned by the results of the recent polls, that give the advantage to the opponent. Mirlande Manigat launched an appeal to voters to vote in large numbers on March 20.

In addition, Mirlande Manigat welcomed the support of several organizations of the education sector and has announced on Monday the support of the current Minister of Culture and Communication, Marie Laurence Jocelyn Lassègue. Ms. Lassègue who asked the Prime Minister and President René Préval a layoff from March 14 to 18 in order to serve the campaign of Mirlande Manigat, is a founding member of the women's organization "Fan m yo la". The Minister said that this decision aims a broad participation of women within the political affairs of the country. She encourages voters to vote for Mrs. Manigat that she presents as a woman who has the capability and the political experience required to lead the country.

Michel Martelly :
Michel Martelly, meanwhile, welcomed the decision of five former presidential candidate to support his candidacy in the second round of elections. [Josette Bijou (independent), Erick Smarky Charles (PENH), Joseph Génard (Groupement de la Solidarité), Wilson Jeudy (Force 2010) et Chavannes Jeune (ACCRHA)] "I welcome the decision of five of my former rivals for the first round of elections that have made an alliance with me for the second round [...] They have not taken this decision because they expect something in return, but because they think that I can really work for the good of the country".

In addition, the "Regroupement majoritaire organisé pour le sauvetage d'Haïti" (Gomsah), composed of a dozen of popular organizations, today reiterated its support for Martelly. Very critically on the aspirations of the candidate Manigat, the spokespersons : David and David Dorman Cossy have called the Haitian people to vote on March 20 for the candidate Martelly "We call all citizens who want a change for the country to vote in mass this March 20 for Michel Martelly".
