Haiti - FLASH : 17% of Haitian women agree to be beaten by their husbands 28/08/2018 12:28:52
Variations by characteristic : The opinion that it is justified for a man to beat his wife / partner for at least one reason is more common among women in rural areas (19%) than in urban areas (13%). On the other hand, for men, this percentage is the same regardless of the place of residence (11%). Whatever the sex, the opinion that it is justified for at least one reason, that a man beats his wife / partner varies with the level of education. Among women and men with no education, this opinion is more frequent (23% and 11% respectively) than among those with secondary education or higher (12% and 9% respectively). The opinion that a man has the right to beat his wife / partner is less common among women whose household is classified in the highest economic well-being (9%) against 24% for the lowest economic well-being (24%).
