Haiti - FLASH : The Haitiano-Japanese Naomi Osaka wins the US Open against Serena William
Saturday in the Grand Slam final on the central court of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in New York the Haitiano-Japanese Naomi Osaka (20 years old) faced American player Serena Williams (36 years, 23 titles won in tournaments) of Grand Slam during the US Open: 7 in Australia, 3 at Roland Garros, 7 Wimbledon and 6 US Open) defeated Serena William in 6-2 and 6-4 in 1 hour 21mn, receiving the cup and pocketing a bonus of $ 3.8 million for this victory. Naomi, the 19th-ranked world player (to be 7th on Monday), became the first Japanese womanmen and women confused, to win in Grand Slam, while she disputed its first final of a great tournament.

From the begening of the games, Naomi imposed on Serena Williams her length, her speed and her power of ball. Serena tried to take control without being able to keep pace with Naomi, nor to support of her power or speed of movement, catching on what make her strength, her service (38% of first in the first set, 6 double faults on the whole match). The first set has even been one way.

Naomi dominated everything and held in check Williams who seemed too erratic to exchange. The level of play was unbelievable and Naomi was undoubtedly the best player on the central court of the US Open, even though Serena William's public lacked impartiality... Naomi Osaka has deservedly won her first title in the US Open. Grand Slam (6-2, 6-4). No Japanese (male or female) had ever won such a Major Tournament.

At the time of the presentation of the Serena William Cup alongside Naomi speaking to an audience frustrated by the defeat of Serena said "She played well, this is her first Grand Slam title. Let's make this moment the best moment possible. Let's recognize the merit where there is [...] Congratulations Naomi !"

Note that Naomi was the youngest tennis player in a US Open Grand Slam tournament and Serena the oldest.
