Haiti - Politic : «It is time to involve the diaspora in the country's active life» dixit Mamatha Irène Ternier
On Tuesday, the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications, Mr. Fritz Caillot installed, Ms. Mamatha Irene Ternier in her new function at the head of the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE).

The ceremony was held in the conference room of the Ministry in the presence of the outgoing Minister, Mr. Guy André François, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Mr. Roudy Aly, the Secretary of State for Public Security , Mr. Léon Ronsard St-Cyr, the Director General of MHAVE, Mrs. Yolette Mengual, Ministry officials, journalists and some guests.

In his speech of convenience, Mr. Fritz Caillot, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC), thanked the outgoing Minister, Mr. Guy André François Junior for his dynamism and the valuable work done in a short time to the ministry. Addressing the new owner of the MHAVE, he invited her to rise to the height of the mission to lead the barque of the institution.

Ms. Mamatha Irene Ternier, the new Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), thanked the President of the Republic, Jovenel Moise and Prime Minister Jean-Henry Céant for the trust placed in her. She said she was proud to be part of this government, and, citing the contribution of the diaspora to the national economy, said that it is time to involve the diaspora in the country's active life. Ms. Ternier mentioned her knowledge of public affairs and her proximity to diaspora communities - for having studied in the United States - to assert that the task will be accomplished effectively.

The outgoing Minister, Mr. François Junior, gave a summary of his actions during the 5 months spent at the MHAVE and presented to the Minister some files relating to compatriots of the diaspora requiring the attention of the new team; These include the regularization of the status of 50,000 Haitians in Chile, the TPS file of Haitians living in the United States, the participation of the diaspora in the next elections.
