Haiti - Gonaïves : A dozen minors arrested for possession and use of drugs 07/10/2018 10:11:25
These young people under 18 are accused of possession, drug use and incitement to libertinage, according to the prosecutor of the commune. The authorities lamented the behavior of these teenagers who should be in school. A businessman whose identity was not revealed was also arrested on suspicion of hiring minors to sell drugs on the streets. The purpose of this study was to specify, among other things, the reasons that a person consumes psychotropic substances, as well as the frequency, the type of drug and the social categories of consumers. CONALD reported that between 2011 and 2015, approximately 9.6 tons of marijuana and 540 kilograms of cocaine were seized in Haiti, the two most abused drugs among high school students (3.2 percent use marijuana and 2.3% of cocaine).
