Haiti - Elections : Edmond Mulet recognizes
"I have noticed many changes compared to November 28. The participation is higher", has declared Edmond Mulet, The chief of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (Minustah) while going in a High School converted into electoral center in Petion Ville, a town near the capital Port-au-Prince, which opened with three hours late... "People know that this is a great moment for Haiti today. All is well, everything goes in peace"

Mr. Mulet acknowledged that there were "delays and small problems" in the electoral process, ensuring that they were "being corrected [...] everything happens in peace he assured."

It is difficult to argue that the turnout is high, given that the observation of some very long queues of voters, are sometimes the result of the delay [of several hours] of the opening of certain voting centers... However, subjectively, based on information reported, it appears that the mobilization of the voters is more important.
