The Monitoring Center of the Digital Observatory in Haiti (OBNH) was informed on October 12 of the existence of a significant security breach, concerning WhatsApp, the multiplatform instant messaging application of more than 1 billion of person every day.
This breachallows malicious individuals to take control of the application by responding to a simple video call by opening a door in the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) [which is also responsible for how applications communicate on the internet] from which a malicious code can be injected into the RAM of the user's device, which makes it possible to take control of it.
The OBNH recommends users to update WhatsApp without delay on their device, to fill this gap and avoid any danger of hacking, a new version of WhatsApp is already available for this purpose.
